New “Top Gun: Maverick” Trailer Teases Hypersonic Test Aircraft (and bit too much CGI…)

Here’s what we have noticed in the second trailer for Top Gun sequel.

I must be honest: I’m less excited for next year’s release of “Top Gun: Maverick” after watching the new trailer of the movie just released by Paramount Pictures.

Indeed, along with the interesting air-to-air and cockpit videos that were already included in the first trailer (read here about all the cool details noticed when the first official trailer was released on July 18, 2019), there is also a lot of CGI (as in the dogfights between Super Hornets…).

Noteworthy, the trailer also shows the much awaited (computer-generated) stealthy experimental hypersonic aircraft whose presence in the sequel was exposed by the shots taken on set showing Capt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell wearing an all-black high-altitude pressure suit similar to the actual ones worn by high altitude reconnaissance pilots in aircraft like the U-2 and SR-71, along with the patch of a possible hypersonic aircraft test program. Is “Maverick” involved in the secret development of an SR-72 hypersonic reconnaissance-inspired spy plane?

Anyway, here’s the new trailer. Let me know what you think of it.
