You have probably seen the pics. Here’s a video of an F-117 landing at Miramar.
As already reported, on Tuesday Oct. 20, 2020, two F-117 Nighthawk stealth jets made a surprise visit to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, landing at the base outside San Diego at around 17.30LT.
You have probably already seen all the photographs of the Black Jets on the visual pattern at Miramar by now. Actually, you may have already listened to the radio conversation between “KNIGHT” flight and Miramar Tower published by The War Zone.
Here’s a video, showing the touchdown of one of the two stealth aircraft that was just posted by Airshowstuff on their Instagram account.

As already explained, we don’t know what the F-117s are up to at Miramar even though they are likely there to take part in some exercise in SOCAL playing the aggressor role, to develop anti-stealth technologies and tactics. Indeed, as explained in various articles, while some of the F-117s retired in 2008 and kept in a “Type 1000” storage at Tonopah Test Range have been disassembled before being transferred to museums around the U.S., sightings of F-117s flying over Nevada and California have continued. We have reported them in 2018, in 2019 and also 2020.
The F-117s are not retired at all, quite the contrary. They have started to appear more frequently, even at significant distance from their usual homebase at TTR.
Therefore, expect more reports and, hopefully, more photographs and videos in the next days as the “Wobblin’ Goblin” starts operating from MCAS Miramar.
